Car Organizers

9 of 9 products

Most car organizers get bought, filled, and then removed within a couple of months because they were in the way. The ones that survive share a trait: they occupy space that was already dead.

Boot organizers work because boot floor space is genuinely unused between shopping trips. Seat back organizers work in family cars where the rear footwell is already lost to child seats. Console and gap fillers work because the gap between seat and console is pure dead space that eats phones.

Front seat organizers that sit on the passenger seat do not work, because that is where passengers and bags go.

Boot organizers

Collapsible fabric boxes with a rigid base are the standard. What varies is whether they stay put when you corner. Look for a non slip base or, better, velcro strips that grip boot carpet. A loaded organizer sliding across the boot is loud and defeats the point.

Dividers should be removable. Fixed compartments are always the wrong size for whatever you actually carry.

Seat back organizers

Measure your rear legroom first. A deep organizer on the back of the driver’s seat in a compact car leaves a rear passenger nowhere to put their knees.

If there is a tablet holder, check it is a separate flap rather than a clear plastic window. Clear windows scratch, glare, and make the touchscreen unreliable within weeks.

Seat gap fillers

The cheapest fix in the category and the one people are most surprised by. They stop phones, cards and coins disappearing into the seat rails.

Fit is the whole thing. Cars with seat mounted airbags or a wide console gap need a wider filler, and a filler that sits proud of the seat is worse than no filler because you feel it against your leg.

Cup holder trays and laptop desks

Useful if you genuinely work in the car. Otherwise they are the item most likely to be sitting in a cupboard in six months. Buy one after you have noticed yourself needing it, not before.
