The single biggest factor in whether your paint looks good in five years is not what you use, it is whether you drag grit across the panel. Almost all swirl marks are self inflicted, put there by a dirty sponge or an automatic car wash brush.
That is why the two bucket habit matters more than any product in this list. One bucket of soap, one of clean rinse water, and you rinse the mitt between panels. It costs nothing and does more than any wax.
Soap
Car shampoo is pH neutral and does not strip existing wax or sealant. Dish soap does, which is why using it is a bad habit rather than a clever saving.
Concentration ratios vary enormously between products, so a small expensive bottle is often cheaper per wash than a large cheap one. Check the dilution before comparing prices.
Mitts and towels
Microfibre or chenille, not sponge. A sponge holds grit against the paint on a flat face. A deep pile mitt lets grit fall away from the surface into the pile.
Drying towels are worth buying properly. A twisted loop or waffle weave towel in the 1200gsm range will dry a whole car without being wrung out, and drying is where a lot of scratches happen because people are impatient at the end.
Colour code your towels and keep the wheel ones separate forever. Brake dust is metal.
Steam cleaners
They have become popular for interiors and they do genuinely lift stains from fabric seats and carpets without chemicals. They are also slower than people expect, need refilling every 10 to 20 minutes on small units, and will not do much on leather beyond warming it.
If your problem is dust and crumbs, a vacuum is the answer. If it is set in stains or greasy trim, steam is worth it.
Waxes and sealants
Carnauba wax looks warmest and lasts about six to eight weeks. Synthetic sealants last four to six months and look slightly more clinical. Ceramic sprays sit between the two and are the easiest to apply badly, since they streak if you leave them too long before buffing.
None of them fix existing swirls. Polishing does that, and polishing removes clear coat, so it is not something to do casually.
