One thing before anything else: never leave this hooked over the wheel while the car is moving. Anything resting on the steering wheel sits directly in the airbag's deployment path, and an airbag fires hard enough to turn a wooden board into the thing that injures you. Fitted and removed each time you park, it is a solid surface for a laptop and better finished than the plastic versions. If what you wanted was something you could leave in place and use at a red light, this is the wrong category of product entirely.
