Replacing the rear-view mirror with a 12-inch screen solves something a conventional dash cam does not. Headrests, passengers and a loaded boot stop blocking the view, because the picture comes from a camera on the back of the car. GPS logging writes speed and coordinates into the file, which is the difference between footage and evidence when someone disputes what happened. The bundled card is 32GB rather than 128GB, so budget for a bigger one. Also worth saying: a 13-inch mirror is a large object in your eyeline and the focal distance does not suit everyone.
