This is climate management, and it is mostly about heat that has already got in versus heat you stop at the glass.

A windshield shade works by reflecting sunlight before it reaches the dash, so coverage and fit matter far more than the material claims. Seat coolers and 12V fans move air rather than refrigerate it — they make a hot seat tolerable, not cold. Anything sold as lowering cabin temperature by a specific number of degrees is quoting a lab figure that assumes a car and a climate you do not have.
